Stephen R. Darche

Stephen Rawson Darche: “Stevie D” of Holbrook passed away suddenly October 26, 2018 at Tuffs Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was 55 years old. Stevie was married to the love of his life, Denise (Hubley). He was the loving, proud father of his oldest son Nicholas, his princess daughter Danielle and his youngest son Adam who is a senior at Holbrook High School. He is also survived by his father Francis Darche and his wife Rosemary of Hanover and Clear Water Fl. Loving brother of Denise Purtle and her husband Robert (Rob), Leeanne Langston and her husband Charles, Michael and his wife Fabiana, Francis (Butchie) and his wife Diane, John (Charlie) and his wife Michele, and Jennifer and her husband David. He was the “fun uncle” to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by his good friend and brother, Ed Reardon as well as Danielle’s best friend/boyfriend Patrick Manning. Stevie was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Irene Darche (Rawson).

For many years Stevie worked as a craftsman of Terrazzo floors, having installed many of the floors in Logan International Airport. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 3. Several months ago Stevie D became a friend of Bill W. He worked hard every single day to maintain that relationship, sharing his stories to help guide and inspire others. His family will be forever grateful for having the opportunity to spend so much time with him while he traveled this path, he introduced us to and shared with us so many friends he made along the way. Which was easy for Stevie D as he never met a stranger. For Stevie D it was always “let me know if there is anything I can do for you”, “I love you like a brother”, “please believe me”, and best of all “I love you more”.

Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook on Wednesday October 31st at 11:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Holbrook at 12pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, October 30th from 4-8pm. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

My Dad god rest his soul would say to me "boy that Mr. Darche is always so friendly and has the biggest smile on his face, always asking, is there anything I can do for you Mr. Cotton?" This earth will miss you but Heaven has gained ONE HELL OF AN ANGEL!! RIP Our Friend.

Denise (The love of his life, from high school, and then on to marriage and kids, what more can u say about that besides you were the first, you were the last, you were his everything) Nick (His firstborn, he was so damn proud to be your Dad), Danielle (his princess), and his “young man” Adam, boy you could do no wrong in his eyes. I was flabbergasted when I heard the news, I have been in South Carolina since last December helping my Mom with closing the restaurant, we closed lit on September 6, but with her getting up in age I will be staying permanently. Unfortunately you all know to well that time is so limited and precious, and I won’t miss a minute of precious time. I have so many precious memories of Stevie D, and you as well Denise, I will always have those memories to live on in my memory bank forever, when I get down and out I will pull one of those memories out and I know I will be happy reliving those memories. Heaven has gained one heck of angel, and we have all lost one hell of a friend that would do absolutely anything for any one of us. May you fly with the eagles Stevie, and RIP, until we meet again
