John B. Bakish

John B. Bakish of Randolph formerly of Weymouth died peacefully surrounded by his loving family after suffering many years with Alzheimers. He spent his last two years in St Joseph’s Manor with the best of care and kindness of all the staff. Everyone there loved him and he in turn loved them as well. He worked as a chef and later as a frozen food salesman, everyone who knew him loved him. He loved his sports especially football, baseball and golf. He enjoyed helping his wife working in vegetable and flower garden at his home. John also loved traveling with his wife and grandchildren to Prince Edward Island, Canada to enjoy the beautiful scenery and have fun.

John grew up in Weymouth, son of late Ignatz and Veronica Bakish. Brother of the late Alphonse, Richard and Genevieve. He joined the Passionist Order as a Brother at a young age. Later he married his wife Andrea who had eight children and loved them as if they were his own. John was very active in his Church teaching CCD and working as Santa Claus for his Church bazaar. He was a very religious person who loved his faith and lived it.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Andrea of 48 wonderful years; Stepchildren Leo Donnelly and wife Dotty, Steve and wife Pat, Andrea Boudreau and husband Jim, Dianne Famolare and husband Tony, Gary and wife Patty, Teri Donnelly, Jim Donnelly and the late Brian Donnelly and wife Patty. He also leaves behind his fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. John will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Monday, September 24th at 9:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael’s Church in Avon at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday, September 23rdfrom 2-6pm. Interment at Mount Benedict Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to St. Joseph Manor, 215 Thatcher St., Brockton, MA 02302.

John wore many hats. First, he was one of the best chefs ever. He cooked at every family event and never failed to satisfy even the fussiest palate. He had a wonderful sense of humor. And most importantly He shared
"LOVE" in everything he did.
