Mary Ann, Sorry for your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Feel bad that we could not attend the wake or funeral seeing as we are in Florida.

So sorry to read of David's death in the Globe. We met years ago in the Catholic Alumni Club of Boston and had some fine times together. We discovered we both were born in Provincetown and learned we were distantly related through marriage via the Justin Jason family in Provincetown. We may have been doubly related through Marie Zerbone. My sympathies and prayers go out to his wife and entire family.

David was a kind and faith-filled man. I will always remember his canceling his trip to Bermuda so he could be the lector for the 150th Anniversary Mass for Saint John's. I can picture him now, where he's been heading for his whole life. We will all miss him terribly.

To the Mendes family-So very sorry to hear about David's passing. I had the good fortune of meeting him when I worked at Barnes and Noble some years ago. Wonderful gentleman who always had a smile on his face.

David was the most kind and gentle person I ever met. As he did with so many, he helped me through a difficult time when my mother got sick. There is a special place in heaven for him.
