Stephen P. Allen

Stephen Paul Allen, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home in Englewood, FL on May 18, 2017 after a heroic battle with cancer. Son of the late Herbert and Marjorie Allen, Steve was born in Quincy, MA, raised in Randolph, and lived in Bridgewater for over 20 years. Steve leaves behind his loving wife, Joan Kennedy Allen and his three beautiful daughters, Jacqueline and her husband Rod Delano of Lakeville, Michelle and her husband Sean Mokeler of Middleboro, and Pam and her husband Stephen Quinn of Berkley, and also his children by marriage, Brian and his wife Lisa Almeida of Orlando, Brie and her husband Dominic Todaro of Englewood, and the late Mark Christopher Almeida. He leaves his ten grandchildren, whom he loved beyond life itself. In addition, he leaves his sisters, Cheryl and her husband Thomas Elliott of Bridgewater and Laurie and her husband Charles Baptiste of Englewood FL. He also leaves Donna Sullivan Allen, loving mother of his three children, and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his constant companion and “good friend” Rufus.

Steve retired from New England Telephone after more than 20 years.

Steve just loved life, he loved any time he had with his family, time with his golf buddies and Englewood Beach. His energetic, magnetic personality and smile touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.

Visiting hours for his memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at Hurley Funeral Home at 134 South Main Street (Rt. 28), Randolph, MA on May 30th from 2-5:30. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if a donation would be make to the American Cancer Society or the Tidewell Hospice of Venice, FL in Steve’s memory, and also in honor of his charismatic spirit, you are welcome to wear your brightest tropical, Floridian colors.

We had the pleasure of being a neighbor of Steve's for 20 years on Driftwood Drive in Bridgewater. He was the best neighbor and friend that anyone could have. Just about everyone in the neighborhood would go to him for advice on any home or landscape issues and Steve would gladly accommodate, that is one of the reasons why he was coined "The Mayor of Driftwood Drive" Long live the Mayor of Driftwood Drive, we will sorely miss you!
Peace and love to Joan, Jacqueline, Michelle, Pam and family.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my best friend Steve. I loved him like a brother. We had tons of fun together over the last 25 years and the emptiness I feel cannot be put into words. I feel lost without him. Rest in peace my brother. My love to Jackie, Michele, Pam, Donna and Joanie.

We had the honor of being one of Steve's neighbors on Driftwood Drive for over 20 years. Steve was an inspiration, a mentor, and our friend. He truly was the 'Mayor' of the neighborhood. We will miss him, but most of all, we remember him for his zest for life. God bless Joanie, Donna, Jackie, Michelle, Pam and his best buddy and constant companion, Rufus. Rest easy Steve.
