Richard H. Sullivan

Richard H. Sullivan, of Raynham, formerly of Avon, passed away February 14, 2017 at the age of 78. Born in Brockton, Richard was raised and educated in Avon. He worked for 25 years at the South Station US Post Office. Richard enjoyed gardening and working with tools and fixing things. He also loved watching the Patriots and Red Sox and enjoyed his cigars.

Beloved husband for 46 years of Maureen (Johnson) Sullivan. Loving father of Timothy J. Sullivan and his wife Christine of Plainville. Dear brother of Mark K. Sullivan of FL and the late Timothy Sullivan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37) Holbrook on Saturday, February 18th at 11:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael’s Church in Avon at 12pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, February 17th from 3-7pm. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, W. Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of your choice.

Dear Maureen, Tim and Christine,
Words can't express the sadness I feel for you with the sudden loss of Dick. Only meeting him once at Tim and Christine's wedding, he will remain in my memory as a warm, welcoming, charming and friendly man. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
