Edward Sullivan Sr

Edward Sullivan, Sr. of Avon formerly of Randolph passed peacefully surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness on September 27, 2016. Born on March 17, 1929, Ed was the youngest of nine and graduated from Cathedral High School. He noted in his yearbook that he wanted to be a crooner. Lucky for him he was the neighborhood oilman with Avon Coal and Oil because he was tone deaf but he continued to croon around the house in his spare time. His passion was being a call firefighter with the Avon Fire Department and serving his hometown. He enjoyed all Boston sports teams, was an avid Nascar fan, and enjoyed the occasional fishing outing.

Beloved husband of Marie (Pircio) Sullivan for 58 years after meeting at a dance in their youth. Loving father of Eddie Sullivan and Mary (Sullivan) Hardiman, both of Avon. Devoted sister of Barbara Page of Quincy. Dear grandfather of Alyssa, Brendan, Corey, Jake, Abby and twins Devin and Ryan, and great-grandfather of Jalen, Jace, Chloe. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 9:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael’s Church in Avon at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday, October 2nd from 3-7pm. Interment St. Michael’s Cemetery, Avon.

So very sorry to hear of Ed's passing. My parents both treasured his and Marie friendship. May he rest in peace.
