Catherine T. (Walsh) LaFleur

Catherine T. (Walsh) LaFleur, 90, originally of South Boston, died peacefully at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA on Monday, April 8, 2024.

She was born in South Boston in 1933 to John Walsh and Mary (Nee) Walsh. Kay (as she was called by her many friends and family) was one of eight siblings with whom she shared a strong lifelong bond. After leaving her beloved hometown of Southie and getting married, she moved to Randolph, MA where she would raise four children.

Kay was preceded in death by her loving husband Gerard (Jerry) LaFleur, her parents and her siblings. She is survived by her four children: Maureen O’Gorman and her husband Jack of Townsend, MA, Michelle Reimer and her husband Brian of Westford, MA, Michael LaFleur of Candia, NH, and Mark LaFleur and his wife Rebecca of Leesburg, VA as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is also survived by her twelve beloved grandchildren, to whom she will always be Grammie: John O’Gorman, Ryan O’Gorman, Kerry O’Gorman, Daniel O’Gorman, Meaghan Reimer, Billy Reimer, Danielle Reimer, Jack Reimer, Jessica LaFleur, Valerie LaFleur, Aiden LaFleur and Sean LaFleur, as well as her four great grandchildren: William, Madison, James and Raymond. Kay’s extended family and the many friends whose lives she touched are too numerous to list, however the family would like to thank Paula Antwi-Ayim and Spider Draleaux for the kindness and companionship they provided her throughout her final years.

Visiting hours will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph from 9-10a.m. Saturday, April 13, followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church in Avon. Burial will be held at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. A celebration of Kay’s life will be held at the Randolph Elks immediately following the cemetery and all are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, and in recognitions of Kay’s lifelong support of our veterans, the family is requesting donations to one of the following charities in her honor: The VFW Post 8892 of Avon or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
