Barbara A. Wood
Barbara Ann Wood, of Braintree, passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 85, surrounded by her family.
She was the daughter of the late Harriet V. (Maker)Wood and Albert V. Wood.
Barbara worked at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown for over 25 years followed by South Shore Educational Collaborative School in Hingham as a Teachers Aide.
Barbara made many close friends while working over the years whom she cherished. She adored all the children she cared for always referring to them as “my kids”.
Barbara also had a special place in her heart for all animals, including her pets that she had throughout her lifetime.
Barbara never married or had children, but had many nieces and nephews she would take on vacation or to York Beach Maine which was one of her favorite places to go every summer. She loved watching the taffy being made at the Goldenrod, molasses taffy was her favorite. Although there was nothing that could make her happier than having a good lobster roll.
Barbara will always be remembered for her unique sense of humor.
Sister of the late Florence Hutchinson of Braintree, the late Albert Wood of Braintree and James Wood of Randolph. Sister in law of the late James Hutchinson of Braintree, the late Marsha (MacDonald) Wood of Braintree and the late Barbara (Elliot)Wood of Randolph. Barbara is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews as well as many Cousins she was very close to.
