Ann M. (Sullivan) Whitney
Ann M. “Annie” (Sullivan) Whitney of Hanson, formerly of Holbrook and South Boston. Annie worked many years in food service at the former Holbrook Jr/Sr High School where she made many friends with both faculty and students. Annie enjoyed going to luncheons and casino trips with “the girls’ who were like family to her. After retirement she loved being with the grandchildren to attend their activities.
Beloved wife of the late George Whitney. Loving mother of Carol Cahill and her husband Sean of Hanson. Devoted sister of Richard Nicholson and wife Gail of South Boston, Carol Lee and husband Thomas of Holbrook, William Sullivan of Boston and the late Thomas Sullivan and George Nicholson. Cherished grandmother of Sean, Genevieve and James of Hanson. Daughter of John Sullivan, and Harriet and William “Bobo” Foley. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial mass will be held at Saint Joseph’s Church in Holbrook, MA on Monday November 7th, at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

I only recently learned of Ann’s passing. Ann worked at Holbrook High School while I was there. She was a bright spot in my day as I always ate in the cafeteria and Ann worked with a smile and, of course, a steady line of conversation. I extend my deepest condolences to those who loved her.
