Frederick 'Freddy' T. Williams
Frederick T. “Freddy” Williams, age 82, formerly of Dorchester and Avon, MA passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021. He died at his home in Bourne surrounded by his loving family.
Fred was a 1957 Graduate of Avon High School. He was employed at Boston Edison for 37 years and served on the Board of Directors for the Boston Edison Credit Union. He also served the town of Avon as an Assessor and Selectman. He was a member of the ELKS and VFW. He is also enjoyed socializing with his many friends as a part-time bartender at the Avon Pub/Shooters.
He was married to his wife Claire for 54 years. He was a beloved husband, father, Papa/Poppy, Godfather and soon to be Great Grandfather. Fred enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing cribbage and watching western movies. He loved listening to country music and was a longtime supporter of the Mass State Lottery.
He was preceded in death by his wife Claire (Kasper), his parents, Florence (O’Connor) and Fred Williams and his sister Margaret Iavelo. He leaves behind his children, Paul, Tommy and his wife Jacqueline, Keri and her husband David Stack. In addition, he leaves his grandchildren, Ryan and Maura Williams, James, Michael, and Connor Stack. He is also survived by his brother Jack (Linda) and his sister Patricia Olson (Arthur).
Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 S. Main Street (RT. 28) Randolph on Wednesday, November 3rd at 9:45 followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 at St. Michael’s Church in Avon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, November 2nd from 4-8pm. Interment will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Avon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Beacon Hospice of Hyannis or The Hospice Foundation of America.
