David M. Durand

David M Durand, of Abington, passed away peacefully October 20, 2021 following a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Randolph, Dave was the son of the late Gerald and Mary Durand. He was a US Navy Veteran and the proud owner and operator of Dave’s Auto Body in Randolph for 38 years.

Dave married his high school sweetheart Sandy (Conrad) Durand in 1968 and they experienced over 53 years of unconditional love together. They enjoyed several trips to Bermuda, family trips to Disney and Falmouth, and their weekly Sandy’s Sunday Fun Day outings!

Along with his wife Sandy, his greatest loves were his three children, four grandchildren and his loyal pup.

He is survived by his daughters Kim Brosnan (wife of the late Jon Brosnan), Kerry DiLorenzo and his son Bud Durand and his wife Elizabeth. He also leaves behind his cherished granddaughters Camryn Brosnan, Jordyn, Madison and Danielle DiLorenzo. His beloved dog Cosmo never left his side.

He is also survived by his brother-in-law Richard Conrad and his wife Marie and Helen Conrad, the wife of the late Roy Conrad. He will be remembered fondly by many extended family members and friends.

Dave was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Easton Country Club. He tended to his immaculate yard and flowers with great care, always making sure that his grass was the greenest on the street. He was known as “Mr. Fix It” to his children and grandchildren as he was the one to call if they ever needed help with anything. We will never forget watching him drive down the streets on his ride-on lawnmower “The Hustler,” enjoying a cigar while he mowed the lawns of his children.

In his final years Dave spent time with those he loved the most. He laughed, reminisced, biked, puttered around his yard, traveled to see the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park, and loved the people around him fiercely. He will be forever missed and always remembered. We all feel so incredibly lucky to have had the chance to know and to love him.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph, on Monday, October 25th from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 26th at 11am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment Central Cemetery, Randolph. Late US Navy Veteran. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory can be made to Old Colony Hospice via www.oldcolonyhospice.org/donation-overview.

Dad, Grampy, Dave- Don’t forget we love you.
