Dear McGraw and Lade Families,

John and I are so sorry for the loss of your dad and grandfather. We had the pleasure of knowing Papa Bud for many years. Papa Bud was such a welcoming person to all who met him, if you walked through Nana Pat and Papa Buds door you were immediately family. We truly loved and enjoyed talking to Papa he had so many great stories. We have no doubt Nana Pat was waiting with open arms for Papa Bud.
Sending our sincere condolences and we hope your happy memories bring you comfort.

Love, Marie and John Russo

My condolences to the entire McGraw family and all that were close to Gene.
Sadly and too often friends tend to lose track of each other in this busy world of ours, hence this post being so long since Gene's passing. It saddened me when I heard that he was no longer with us.

Gene was one of my Dad's best friends, they served in the US Navy together on the USS Salem. Gene's wife Pat was my Godmother. I remember fond times with all of the McGraw's, visiting and many times working with them in employment.

My Dad often talked of Gene and himself about the days on the USS Salem and their friendship. They were just teenage boys when they met, they found a great lifelong friendship while growing up and becoming men, all while seeing the world. What an exciting time it must have been for them. Just two country boys from VA and W. VA embarking on such a journey.

I have a few photos of them on the USS Salem from my Dad's Navy scrap book. Don't hesitate to reach out to me if anyone would like me to scan and send to them.

I hope all are doing well in the McGraw family.
