Michael J. Burke

Michael J. Burke, of Randolph, passed away unexpectedly August 17, 2021 at the age of 44. Mike was sociable, lovable and was always there to help anyone out. He was known for tinkering with his “wheels” (aka many vehicles), doing handy projects for family and friends, and taking long naps. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially was a proud and loving dad to his beautiful daughter, Maddie. Mike had a genuine way of living the lifestyle he wanted where he poured into others with his laughter, smile and charm.

Beloved son of Karen (MacNeill) Burke of Randolph and William Burke of Braintree; Loving father of Madison Burke; Cherished friend to Shauna Poirier and Jake of Stoughton. Devoted brother to Jeff Burke and his wife Lucy of Kingston, Leanne Walker and her husband Sean of Piney Flats, TN, and Jim Burke and his wife Melissa of Holbrook. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Liam Walker, Aidan Walker, Catie Walker, Sean Walker, Emma Burke, Tommy Burke, Derek Fox and Dilynn Fox. Furthermore, he is survived by his daughters’ grandparents, Wayne and Mary Poirier of Stoughton.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 South Main Street (Rt 28), Randolph on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm followed by a memorial service at 5:00pm to 5:30pm. My nephew Mike was such a joy and the connection I had with him will fill me with gratitude for the rest of my days. I simply loved him and it was that easy for me. I will never forget the laughs we had all daylong working together on projects.
Our ski trips were the best from Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe to Killington and Jay Peak to name a few. Apres ski with Mike was a pleasure and he always had that joie de vivre.
It’s not a cliche to say that he knew that life was not about waiting for the storm to pass but learning how to dance in the rain
Family gatherings will never be the same without him but I know that his spirit will be there with us to soften the loss that I feel.

Mike was my dear and loving cousin, who was passionate about life and devoted to his daughter, Maddie. He was a joy to be around and his enthusiasm for Maddie and others, as well as in the simple pleasures of daily life, was evident. Mike will be greatly missed and I will cherish his memory.

We came to know Mike when he was in grade school. He was a classmate and the best buddy of our son, Brian Orquiola. Mike used to hang out with Tom Grundig, Greg Maloney and Mike Judge at our place in Bittersweet Lane. Mike and Brian usually went out and play together. They both love sports He was a great guy and a great person He will do favors to any body just to please them A few years ago, he went to Georgia to visit us. We were surprise to see how tall he has grown up. Still the same old nice guy. A lot of people will miss you Mike. We will surely miss you Mike. Brian will truly miss
you We love you Mike. Rest in Peace in Heaven Mike.
Our message to Mike's daughter, Maddie: We know you will miss him Just remember your Dad was a great people pleaser who helped a lot Mike was loved by many.

What a mark this kid made on the world. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, he truly cared for you and wasn’t afraid to have those “heart to heart” talks. Those talks are what I will miss the most.

I love you buddy and I’ll see you again and yes you did strike me out 3 times in one game.

I knew mike when i was younger. He was friendly with my brother Ben and he was always a super likeable and personable person. I was saddened and shocked to hear this. My thoughts are with the Burke family. Rest in peace, Mike.

Mike is my younger cousin. As adults we didn’t get to spend much time together but I always felt connected to him. We were both the green eyed, dark haired kid, in a family of blondes. He was a great help to my parents when a big project needed finishing. The keeper of Nana MacNeill’s Christmas Spaghetti and Meatball tradition. There were not enough years to enjoy your smile and laughter but I am sure Nana and Grampy are really happy to see you too! I love you Mike.

I didn't know Mike that well, but from what I've noticed over the years since HS, is a caring, thoughtful and a traveler kind of person. I found him that guy that said hi here and checked in to make sure his friends and family were alright. He was a BLUE DEVIL then and will always be one. Taken too soon Mike.
