Peter G. Kyer

Peter G. Kyer of Randolph passed away on October 10, 2020 with members of his family after a lengthy illness. Peter was born in Boston to the late Francis and Mary (Sullivan) Kyer of Randolph. Peter was the brother of Kathleen Kyer of Bridgewater, Gerard Kyer of Brockton, and Robert Kyer of Weymouth; former brother-in-law of Marybeth Kyer of East Bridgewater. Peter is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Peter was a lifelong resident of Randolph. Peter was a long-time employee of the Brockton Post Office. Peter was a proud Vietnam War Veteran and was a long-time member of the Frank M. Noyes VFW Post 8892 in Avon serving in various roles throughout his time there including the position of Commander. Peter proudly served as a member of the honor guard at many veteran funerals. He marched annually in the Avon Memorial Day parade, once he was too ill to walk the length he then participated by riding in a car. He loved to travel with his fellow members of the VFW to various events around the country in support of Veterans. Peter loved his New England sports teams, especially the Patriots to which he went to many games.

Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Thursday, October 15th at 9:45am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael’s Church in Avon at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 14th from 6-8pm. Interment St. Michael’s Cemetery, Avon. Covid-19 restrictions will be in place. Late US Army Veteran. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory can be made to Frank Noyes VFW #8892, 263 East Main Street, Avon, MA 02322.
